Sari
The objective of this study is to analyze the effect of leverage, measured by the Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), and liquidity, measured by the Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR), on stock returns in banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2022-2024. This is a quantitative study using a causal-comparative approach. Data collection utilized secondary data in the form of financial statements and annual reports obtained from the official website of the BEI and the respective companies’ official websites. Data analysis techniques included descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, and hypothesis testing using SPSS software. The results of the study indicate that: (1) the Debt to Equity Ratio has a negative and significant effect on stock returns; (2) the Loan to Deposit Ratio has a negative and significant effect on stock returns; (3) simultaneously, both DER and LDR have a significant effect on stock returns for banking companies listed on the IDX. The coefficient of determination indicates that 15.6% of the variation in stock returns can be explained by the DER and LDR variables, while the remaining 84.4% is explained by other factors outside the scope of this study.
