Abstract

Career is a continuous process of learning and self-development related to work. Some people choose to change their jobs for some reasons, including employees who turn to become entrepreneurs. There are many differences in work demands between employees and entrepreneurs. They need to adapt to the new work role and environment. The ability to adapt to a new job can be traced through concern, control, curiosity, and confidence which are incorporated into career adaptabilities. This study aims to determine the career adaptabilities of former employees who have become entrepreneurs. The selection of participants was carried out by purposive sampling. They were former employees who had been new entrepreneurs for the longest 6 months and had never been full-time entrepreneurs before. The research used a qualitative approach with the interview method. The number of subjects taken was 3 people. The results of the analysis show that the subject has good career adaptabilities. This is because their interest in entrepreneurship is already strong based on religiosity in living it. Subjects also feel the positive impacts when they became entrepreneurs.
